Professional Development
The following criteria apply for Pilates Professionals in addition to the methods to accumulate CECs referenced in the AUSactive CEC Guidelines until December 31st, 2022.
- Fitness Australia will recognise education approved by Australian Pilates Method Association, Pilates Alliance Australasia and Pilates Method Alliance, in addition to the existing CEC Guidelines. This will allow Pilates Professionals to claim CECs that are directly related to Pilates, on a 1 CEC per learning hour ratio.
- Non-CEC approved activities “relevant” to Pilates, will be considered through the affiliated education CEC allocations, based on their registration level and recognition from a credible third-party organisation (i.e. SMA). This may apply to relevant movement, anatomy, physiology, business or other appropriate non-CEC approved programs. Affiliate education requirements apply, as per the AUSactive CEC Guidelines.
- Attending Pilates classes will not be considered for CECs unless it forms part of a structured mentoring relationship as per the AUSactive CEC Guidelines.
- Note that all other activities in the CEC Guidelines that apply to existing REPs will also apply to Pilates Professionals, except where the activity is not relevant to their registration category – E.g. Pilates Professionals not registered in any other category will not be eligible for CECs for completing an Olympic lifting program.
