The National Program Grant funding through the COAG Healthy Communities Initiative (HCI) will enable Fitness Australia in partnership with Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute deliver the Lift for Life® program into more locations across Australia including settings that are accessible to disadvantaged communities and to people who are not in the paid workforce.
What is Lift for Life?
Lift for Life is an evidence-based resistance training program for adults of any age or fitness level with type 2 diabetes or those who are at risk of developing it and other chronic conditions.
Resistance training involves using your own body weight or resistance equipment like a dumbbell or rubberised band.
