Community Exercise Program Award 2020 sponsored by OneMusic Australia
The Director of OneMusic Australia, Catherine Guiliano announced the winner of the Community Exercise Program Award which recognises a physical activity, program or event delivered to people where exercise is difficult to access and is at low or no cost to the wider community.
The 2020 Australian Fitness Awards powered By Fitness Australia has announced the first round of winners at a Virtual Cocktail Party at the FILEX Moving Forward Summit. The summit provides fitness professionals support with topics and content focused on helping drive the industry onward and upward through the current crisis.
The winner of the Community Exercise Program award goes to Love to Live.
The Love to Live Program was created by Program Director Michelle when her mother in law moved into an Aged care facility after a battle with cancer. After Michelle saw the dated programs on offer, she knew that she needed to create something more exciting and functional.
The classes integrate elements of rhythm and a range of movement to encourage mobility, improve motor function and promote an overall feeling of well being.
The program has specifically been built with the aim of meeting the requirements set out by the recently introduced aged care standards, with the resident being the centre of focus at all times.
Congratulations to Michelle, her Love to Live Program and her Love to Live Angels.
