The purpose of the Code is to promote appropriate standards of trading, inspire consumer confidence and enable business operators to conduct services in a professional and ethical manner.
Fitness Australia took six previous state and territory codes of practice, the Fitness Australia Business Principles guide, current Australian consumer law and extensive industry consultation as reference points to draft the National Fitness Industry Code of Practice.
This code is now the new standard of business operation in the contemporary Australian fitness industry, and is supported by the Australian Fitness Industry Standards Council.
This Code sets a base foundation for businesses in the Australian fitness industry and enables the industry to continue to build upon this base in the interest of continual business standards improvement.
The ways in which business can look to reach a higher standard above the new Code are through following guidelines like the Fitness Australia’s Business Principles and taking part in the Fitness Australia Quality Accreditation Program.
By applying and achieving the standards set in these initiatives, your business would be moving toward exceeding industry standards and excelling as a standout Australian fitness business.
Designed for fitness service operators in the fitness industry, the purpose of the code is to promote appropriate standards of trading, inspire consumer confidence and enable business operators to conduct services in a professional and ethical manner.
This code administered by the board of Fitness Australia is a voluntary application by the members of Fitness Australia.
