Australian Fitness Awards 2021
The Business Awards aim to recognise the great work Fitness Businesses do every day to improve the lives of their clients.
Clients can nominate their gym, fitness or recreation centre, personal training business or club. Fitness Professionals can nominate their workplace.
- All nominations must be submitted online at awards.fitness.org.au.
- A client of the nominee can nominate their gym, fitness centre, personal training business or club who run a fitness program that has improved their health.
- An owner, manager or staff member can nominate their business or workplace delivering a health and fitness program that has provided health benefits to their clients.
- At the national level, a business cannot receive a second award in the same award category but can be considered for recognition in a separate category in the following year.
- Unsuccessful nominees may be re-nominated in subsequent years.
- This awards program is open to business nominations, not individuals.
- Types of businesses eligible include personal training businesses, gyms, fitness centres, recreation centres, and clubs.
- There will be five awards presented for the Business Awards.
- There will be up to three (3) finalists for each category and one National Award winner.
- All finalists will be in the running for the national award.
- Current members of the Fitness Australia Board are not eligible.
- Absolutely NO weight is given to the number of times a person nominates.
Category Eligibility:
- All nominees will be considered for a Business Award.
- Award finalists will also be considered for the national award in each category.
The nominated Business:
- Must adhere to the Fitness Industry Code of Practice.
- May only be nominated in only one state or territory. For example, a business that operates in multiple locations will be eligible for consideration in only one single location. Selection panels may choose to contact the nominee for them to determine which jurisdiction is most appropriate.
- Must specify a single site/facility operating under the same/similar name, not available to nominate a Fitness Group.
- Must have been operating in the fitness industry in Australia for at least 12 months
- If successful, the nominated business will be required to submit an entry to be considered for an award.
- Must be a current Fitness Australia business member to proceed to the finalist round.
- Must operate in Australia.
The nominated Club Manager:
- The individual must be managing a fitness facility in Australia, for at least 12 months
- An employer, staff member or colleague can nominate a person who manages a fitness facility.
- Self‐nominations will be accepted.
- If successful, the nominated club manager will be required to submit an entry to be considered for an award.
- Must reside in Australia.
Confidentiality:
- Fitness Australia regards it as a privilege to have applicants share their journey and achievements with us.
- Fitness Australia takes the confidentiality of information extremely seriously.
- Fitness Australia will control the collection, security, quality, use and disclosure of personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
- All information collected by Fitness Australia will be kept confidential and will only be seen by those directly involved in the assessment of the entry for the purpose of the Awards
- Any person involved in seeing the information will sign a confidentiality agreement and will agree to declare any potential conflict of interest. Appropriate strategies will be implemented to minimise any conflicts.
- All electronic information will be stored on a secure network.
Any nomination not complying with these Terms and Conditions is invalid. A client who has consented to Nomination is deemed to be an acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
