Australian Fitness Awards 2021
The Community Excellence Award recognises the great work that individuals and gyms, fitness centres, businesses, and clubs do every day to provide exceptional exercise participation in the community through a health and fitness program.
Clients can nominate their gym, fitness centre, personal training business or club. Fitness facilities can nominate their health and fitness program that has provided health benefits to the community.
- All nominations must be submitted online at online at awards.fitness.org.au.
- A client of the nominee can nominate their gym, fitness centre, personal training business or club who run a fitness program that has improved their health.
- An owner, manager or staff member of the nominee can nominate their business delivering a health and fitness program that has provided health benefits to the community.
- At the national level, a business cannot receive a second award in the same award category but can be considered for recognition in a separate category the following year.
- Unsuccessful nominees may be re-nominated in subsequent years.
- This awards program is open to community nominations only but may be awarded to an individual or business.
- Types of businesses eligible include personal training businesses, gyms, fitness centres, recreation centres, and clubs.
- Program settings include a fitness facility, outdoor park, sports, and recreation centre, a swimming pool.
- There will be up to three (3) finalists for the category and one National Award winner.
- All finalists will be in the running for the national award.
- Current members of the Fitness Australia Board are not eligible.
- Absolutely NO weight is given to the number of times a person nominates.
Category Eligibility:
- All nominees will be considered for a Community Award.
- All finalists will also be considered for the national award in the category.
The nominated Community Program:
- Must adhere to the Fitness Industry Code of Practice.
- May only be nominated in only one state or territory. For example, a business that operates in multiple locations will be eligible for consideration in only one location. Selection panels may choose to contact the nominee for them to determine which jurisdiction is most appropriate
- Have been operating in the fitness industry in Australia for at least 12 months
- Must be operating in Australia.
The Nominated Business for the Community Activation Award:
- Must adhere to the Fitness Industry Code of Practice.
- May only be nominated and recognised under the same Trading name operating in multiple locations.
- Have been operating in the fitness industry in Australia for at least 12 months
- Must be operating in Australia.
The Nominated Individual for the Community Volunteer Award:
- Must be at least 17 years of age on 1 January of the Awards Year.
- May only be nominated in only one state or territory. E.g. a person who has moved interstate will be eligible for consideration in only one location. Selection panels may choose to contact the nominee for them to determine which jurisdiction is most appropriate.
- Must have been operating in the fitness industry in Australia for at least 12 months
- Must reside in Australia.
Confidentiality:
- Fitness Australia regards it as a privilege to have applicants share their journey and achievements with us.
- Fitness Australia takes the confidentiality of information extremely seriously.
- Fitness Australia will control the collection, security, quality, use and disclosure of personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
- All information collected by Fitness Australia will be kept confidential and will only be seen by those directly involved in the assessment of the entry for the purpose of the Awards.
- Any person involved in seeing the information will sign a confidentiality agreement and will agree to declare any potential conflict of interest. Appropriate strategies will be implemented to minimise any conflicts.
- All electronic information will be stored on a secure network.
Any nomination not complying with these Terms and Conditions is invalid. A client who has consented to Nomination is deemed to be an acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
