The Board is Fitness Australia's linkage to the fitness industry. The Board is responsible for providing strategic leadership of the organisation within a framework of prudent and effective controls and establishing the organisation's vision, mission, values, and standards of conduct in the interests of industry members, stakeholders and the communities in which it operates. Jayne has managed her own consultancy business, JBC International since 2009, specialising in assisting people and organisations to effectively plan for, and drive personal and business growth. Through JBC, Jayne has achieved success in coaching and consulting assignments in the Corporate, SME and Not-For-Profit segments.
Jayne has also successfully performed Board roles including Chair, and Chair Audit and Risk and other Board Committees, she is currently a Director HeartKids, an organisation which aims to conquer Congenital Heart Disease, the single biggest cause of death of Australian babies.
In her corporate career, Jayne worked for Vodafone Group in various General Manager roles in the UK and Australia, in Finance, Commercial and Customer Service functions, until becoming Sales Director in 2004.
Newcastle University Sport (NUsport)
Chris is the former Chief Executive Officer of Newcastle University Sport (NUsport), a not for profit company that manages aquatic, gymnasium, group fitness, sporting, and recreational facilities and services in support of the University of Newcastle and the wider community.
Chris has a Bachelor of Commerce and has over 20 years’ experience in the fitness, health and recreation industry and brings a range of skills including financial management, strategic planning and business administration gained from his existing role but also from previous roles in the hospitality, retail and building industries. He has served on Boards and numerous Committees involved in promoting improvement in community health and well-being.
Chris is an active participant in sport and fitness and has a vision that sees the industry engaging with increasing numbers of people to encourage and support participation in regular exercise and other services that improve their well-being.
Chantal Brodrick worked for 15 years in senior sales and marketing roles in the media industry before transitioning careers.
In 2008 she became a qualified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. Soon after she combined her corporate background with her love of fitness and became a Fitness Business Coach.
In 2015 Chantal became the host of The Fitness Business Podcast - the world's leading podcast for fitness business owners and managers. Chantal has interviewed over 300 fitness industry leaders, coaches, consultants and authors.
In 2019 Chantal was recognised as 1 of 20 'Women Who Inspire' by IHRSA's Club Business International Magazine and this year (2019) she is a featured speaker and MC at industry events across the world including, IHRSA, FILEX, IDEA, Athletic Business Show and FITEX.
Jen Dugard is the founder of the Body Beyond Baby brand, creator of Fitness Professional education Safe Return to Exercise and author of the book How to Love your Body as much as your Baby.
Jen has over 13 years’ experience within the Fitness Industry in a range of roles from Personal Trainer, Outdoor Group Fitness business owner, mentor, educator and presenter.
Jen’s personal mission is to raise the standard of the fitness industry through education and collaboration and has been executing this for many years within the pre and postnatal space. Positioning herself as a specialist both in working with women and training the trainers that work with women, she is a huge advocate of strengthening relationships between the fitness industry, allied health and medical industry.
Jen shares her knowledge and experience by regularly presenting at key industry conferences including FILEX in Australia, ExPro in Singapore and later FITEx in New Zealand. She also writes regularly for What’s New in Fitness and Women’s Health Australia.

Justin has over 25 years’ experience in the fitness industry in a range of facilities, including small owner operated, family owned and larger chains.
With a passion for developing business, Justin is a shareholder of Anytime Fitness in the United Kingdom and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors
Kate is a lawyer, mediator, director and governance professional with a background as a litigator at one of Australia’s major regulatory organisations (ASADA); & ACT Office of the Director of Public Prosecution. She is an experienced Executive Officer and National Board Chair with a reputation for using advocacy and communication to build organisational culture, governance reform and strategic transformation. Kate is currently the Director of Sport Governance & Strategy at Sport Australia and the Chair of Judo Australia and an appointee to the International Judo Federation Gender Equity Commission. Kate sits on the judiciary of Basketball ACT and Softball ACT. She is a group fitness instructor teaching Les Mills programs in Canberra.
Kate’s reputation is for achieving outstanding financial results, governance improvement, staff and volunteer engagement and for being an inspiring leader. The breadth and depth of her experience with national and state sporting organisations, government stakeholders and community organisations has ensured she is sought out to work broadly across all areas of the sporting, fitness and community sectors to grow organisational results, profile and participation and to lead change.
With more than fifteen years’ experience in the leisure industry, Paige has experienced all facets of the industry. Paige is the Manager of Glen Eira Leisure; encompassing management over Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC), Caulfield Recreation Centre and Carnegie Swim Centre. Paige was a founding member of the GESAC Management Team and has experienced building GESAC to become the highest performing centre in Australia and setting the benchmark as an industry leader.
Paige has consulted with many local government developers on new facilities being constructed Australia wide to help the Leisure Industry build on the success that GESAC has experienced.
GESAC currently enjoys over 1.6 million visits per year and provides an operational surplus to council of three million dollars. Most recently GESAC has succeeded in being named Aquatic and Recreation Victoria’s Facility of the Year for the second time in five years, as well as being named the first club in Australia to receive Fitness Australia’s Quality Accreditation.
Paige enjoys her role on the Board of Directors for Aquatics and Recreation Victoria as the Director of Facility Management Standing Committee.
Prior to Paige’s time at GESAC she worked with Belgravia Leisure for 9 years and managed centres such as Melton Waves and was a passionate Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer.
Paige holds a Bachelor Degree in Marketing and Human Resources from La Trobe University.
Ty Menzies is the CEO of Lift Brands Asia Pacific and provides strategic leadership, overseeing the business operations for their three brands, Snap Fitness, 9Round and Fitness On Demand (FOD).
Ty has over 15 years’ experience in the health and fitness industry, starting as a personal trainer whilst studying and progressing to gym ownership in his early 20’s. Ty’s career has continued to evolve spanning across multiple brand ownership and now driving one of the largest health and wellness franchising groups in the world throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
This experience allows Ty to bring a very unique view of the health, fitness and wellness industry to the Fitness Australia Board and additionally, Ty also serves on the board of Exercise New Zealand and is due to complete his Master of Business Administration in 2020.
