Advanced Concepts in Kettlebell Training
The Kettlebell Level 2 Course has been designed to follow on from the Level 1 Course in terms of progressions, advanced technique and programming.
With regards to the progressions you will notice that we have introduced the second Kettlebell for the majority of the exercises. This requires the lifter to be more confident and controlled within their lifts. When working with two Kettlebells you will notice more work in and around the core including the glutes therefore creating a very strong and stable lower back.
There is also more emphasis on the power element of training due to the increased load and the use of hip extension. A much sought after movement when working with high loads and at speed. Although the techniques in Level 2 are advanced we have taken the time to break the movements down into parts with regressions if needed, and remember most of the lifts naturally follow on from Level 1.
The Level 2 course starts to look at the sport side of Kettlebells (Girvoy) and how these lifts are put into competitions throughout Europe. The first thing you will notice is that the programming incorporates both ends of the spectrum when it comes to endurance and power. Traditionally these two modalities do not go together however in the sport of Kettlebell lifting
i.e. The Snatch, The Jerk and The Long Cycle, power lifts are performed over a period of time not less than 5 min. This requires specific technique and conditioning which is covered in Level 2.
