Update on the Quality Awards for 2015
Recognising, promoting and celebrating excellence in the industry
The Fitness Australia Quality Awards were introduced in 2012, aligning with the National Quality Assurance Framework standards. It has always been our aim to expand the reach and influence of the Quality Awards to become a recognised and valued stand-alone business accreditation program that promotes quality and best practice within the industry, and to the general public. The time has now come for this transition to occur.
The Quality Awards are shifting to become a more inclusive Quality Accreditation program. We believe quality shouldn't be just about 'winning' an award, but provide a desire for businesses to improve and provide better health outcomes for consumers.
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, the transition to the new Quality Improvement Accreditation Program will commence in 2015 and launch in 2016. As a result, there will be no Quality Awards program this year.
What does this mean for 2014 Quality Award recipients?
All current recipients of the Quality Awards will retain their status for 2015. Businesses should continue to promote their Quality Award branding during this transition period.
What will be happening in 2015?
We will be finalising the development of the Quality Improvement Accreditation Program, which involves:
- reviewing and consulting on the current quality framework
- developing other quality improvement activities
- collecting and uploading key indicators from a selection of businesses for industry benchmarking
Will there be any Health & Fitness Industry Awards in 2015?
Yes. This year we’re launching the #ActiveAchievers Award. This award will profile trainer / instructor and client success stories, and highlight the great work that the fitness industry is doing to help Australians achieve their health and fitness goals. If you know of a great story, nominate today at activeachievers.com.au. Entries open 15 June.
