Members of the Executive Management Team of Fitness Australia are the key points of contact for advocacy work. Bill Moore, Christy Collier and Craig Knox, are highly experienced association executives with a broad range of skills and experience in stakeholder consultation, industry representation, issues management and government lobbying.
Chief Executive Officer
Bill has an extensive background in the fitness industry, commencing with the ownership of a strong independent fitness facility in the early 90’s and being involved in the foundation work and establishment of the key principles that now underpin Fitness Australia.
More recently Bill was responsible for the development and successful running of the Michelle Bridges Group of Companies. Bill has a high level of experience and expertise in business development, operations and brand development.
Having been involved at all levels including as an instructor, personal trainer and owner of fitness businesses, his understanding and connection to the industry as a whole allows him to drive the evolution of Fitness Australia.
General Manager - Industry Development
Craig has over 30 years’ of experience in the fitness industry. This has included managerial positions in community and private sector facilities, professional practice in community, corporate and elite level programs and the establishment of successful consultancy and publishing businesses.
For the past 12 years, his involvement in association management has provided extensive experience across management, leadership, strategic planning and professional/industry standards development. Craig has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement) and a Masters of Applied Science (Exercise Psychology).
A member of the inaugural Executive Management Team, Craig brings a significant level of technical and industry expertise to Fitness Australia and consistently applies this to the organisations strategic and industry development initiatives.
General Manager, Marketing & Communications
Christy Collier has a passion for health & fitness, which is reflected in her personal life, studies and career path.
Christy is an avid gym-goer and sportswoman, regularly attending group fitness classes and participating in basketball, netball and dragon boating.
“I’ve always been fit, healthy and active, and am therefore passionate about making positive changes to assist the Fitness Industry to engage more Australian’s in regular exercise”.
Christy has completed a Bachelor of Sports Management, Graduate Certificate in Marketing Communication and Graduate Diploma of International Sports Management. Never one to stop learning, Christy is currently undertaking a Masters of Business (MBA)
Honing her skills in management, marketing and communications, Christy has worked with a wide range of organisations including Golf NSW, Les Mills Asia Pacific, Westfield and the Australian of the Year Awards.
Christy is also a Director of Dragons Abreast Australia, a national not-for-profit charity whose mission is to encourage wellness, fitness, fun and camaraderie for breast cancer survivors through the sport of dragon boating and promote breast cancer awareness throughout our community.
Sinking her teeth into the new role is something Christy is really looking forward to.
